Consequences

Weigh-in day today. I lost two pounds.

That's 95 total, bringing my weight down to 384. And 38 pounds since joining Ultra Fit.

Another positive step, to be sure. But still disappointing. Throw out my pizza meal over the weekend and it would have been a much better week.

Were I to rationalize, I could say that, well, how many weeks before did I lose zero or gain weight? And that would be accurate.

But it's not good enough anymore. Not since I've seen how this program works.

Discipline, discipline, discipline. Something I'm still working on. Something that has obviously been a problem for me, otherwise I wouldn't be in this shape in the first place.

When I sat down to write this entry, my mindset was - looking ahead - to strive for the "perfect week." But I can't think that far ahead.

One meal at a time. One day at a time.

JC,
With all due respect...
Please look at the background of Ultra Fit.
We have helped tens of thousands of people over the past 30 years.
We have saved lives, we have changed lives...we have allowed good people to live longer so they could enjoy their families and be instrumental in developing family values and raising good children.
We did this with Ultra Fit.
Ultra Fit is not just a diet...
Ultra Fit is a concept and a program. Ultra Fit is believing in our success from looking at the people we have helped, and by believing in us and our program...
We then show you how to believe in yourself and go after your goals.
To think like a WINNER!
I do not agree with your theory of "It's okay to cheat yourself and eat unhealthy". That would be like saying that it is okay not to work hard If you have enough money or not to strive to be the best that you can be.
If I followed your beliefs then I would not have saved my mothers life, I would not have helped thousands of people live longer and healthier lives and I would not have ever accomplished any of the goals I set for myself and achieved through hard work and discipline. Please stop raining on peoples parades by telling them that they can cheat or fail themselves.
Life is about embracing opportunity and shooting for the stars. Life is about BEING YOUR BEST so you can offer your best to others and enrich their lives.
Your theory of cutting calories and doing more cardio is just what has allowed this country to become overweight, obese and unhealthy.
Losing muscle by cutting calories and exercising more will only allow the person to gain back more weight.
I would gladly welcome you to meet some of our clients while they are getting the results, after they have gotten the results and years later as they are enjoying the results.
I would also like to meet the people that you have taken more than 100 pounds off of.
(We have over 200 of them in the past 2 years alone)
And as the founder and leader of Ultra Fit for 26 years, I am not arrogant...I am "PASSIONATE" about my role because we save and change lives everyday and I am so very proud of our work.
Stay blessed and have a nice day!
Sincerely & Respectfully,
John DeFendis

COMMITMENT

“Commitment is what transforms a promise into reality.
It is the words that speak boldly of your intentions.
And the actions that follow will speak louder than the words.
It is making the time when there is none.
Coming through time after time after time,
day after day, week after week and month after month.
Commitment is the stuff that character is made of;
the power to change the face of things.
It is the daily triumph of integrity over skepticism."

Get over yourself JC. John Defendis would kick your ass so you might want to back off!!! I wouldn't want to be you walking into the gym with Defendis. I have a feeling he would teach YOU a few things!

Actually I never trained to kick anyone's butt. I trained to be healthy and fit and to be an example for others to follow.
If I sounded defensive in my post, it was only because I CARE.
I care about Dan and I care about everyone who cares enough about their health and their families future health & longevity.
I do have a tendency to get defensive whenever anyone says something negative about a program that has helped tens of thousands of people.
I am passionate about my work.
I am proud of our trainers, our program and our mission.
The people who truly care about their work...the ones who have been successful...will always become a bit defensive when someone says something negative.
I admit...it annoys me...but it doesn't stop me or slow me down from my vision of creating a healthier South Carolina!
Stay blessed
John DeFendis
