Bearing Down On 100

When I popped back over to Clemson on Thursday for a post-weigh in look, I had dropped another pound.

It won't officially count until next Wednesday, but in the immediate that made me 96 pounds lighter than when I started this process.

Four more pounds for 100. Four.

Not that I'm stopping there. Far from it. Ideally I need to lose another 120-140 beyond that mark (Vernon says with my body frame and the weight training I'm doing, I will carry a finishing weight of 240-260 very well).

But that 100 pound mark is a big deal for me. I wanted to get it in less than a year. And if I can swing four more by Wednesday, I'll have done it it with six weeks to spare.

So, I'm working hard to stay away from the bad meals this week. And so far, so good.

Getting to that number means a lot to me.

screw 100. 300 is your number!!! 100 is nothing but a milepost on your journey. you'll blow past it like blowing past gaffney on the way to maine!!! blow past it and keep on trucking!!! keep the faith, semper fi.

get busy and get to your goal. keep it in front of you all the time. you are the only one that can do it. vernon can't do it for you. he can only help. stay away from the things he is telling you to stay away from. you know what you can and can't do by now. you've been doing this for long enough to know what works and what doesn't. you'll soon be losing it faster than you can count. so enjoy this milestone. it'll be a distant memory in the near future.

EMPOWER YOURSELF WITH SELF DISCIPLINE

Self discipline is not something you acquire...

It is something you use.
When you make use of it, self discipline will help to bring about anything you can imagine.

And it is yours to use whenever you choose...so utilize it for success.

You don't need to take a certain course or read a particular book or attend a weekend workshop

in order to benefit from self discipline.

The benefits of self discipline come, not with any special knowledge or skill, but with simple practice.

When you decide to discipline yourself to achieve...you will achieve.

When you decide to make consistent use of discipline in your life,

you're able to fulfill the best of your possibilities.

Put self discipline to use, and you can achieve your dreams and reach your goals.

Put self discipline to use, and no obstacle can stand in your way for long.

The power of self discipline is yours to use when you have a reason that's meaningful enough to you.

So find that reason, lock your focus onto it, and you will be well on your way to Success!
Be relentless and disciplined.

dan = i hope you are successful. please give more information on your radio show about vernon. i think that everyone could benefit from his knowledge about fitness. i would like to know if he's been on any magazine covers. here's another question tthat maybe you could answer on your show: should a person do this type of workout if they have previously undergone surgery for cancer? terry hannity

Terry,
Yes, we have worked with post cancer patients and have had great results. Strength training and exercise combined with healthy nutrition are key elements when recovering from cancer and after going into remission.
We have had great success with everyone and we care. Our goal is to make a difference in everyone's life.

i have an answer for rhett berger. it seems like to me he's on to something. do you get many people of non-american origin in your gym dr. defendis? what's your opinion of the obesity epidemic that's taking over america and the southeast in particular. your business is surely good based on what i see when i'm at the jockey lot. the only concern is whether these people want to get into shape. way to go Dan. I'm proud of you for actually wanting to do something to improve your condition.

Rhett and Anonymous friend,
In response to your questions:
1) We have the best assortment of people from all walks of life. Most importantly...Everybody needs to be fit and healthy. Everybody needs a trainer and a program if they are sincere about their health & fitness goals.
I started with a trainer and still value his words. Tiger Woods has a trainer. Professional athletes in every sport have trainers for strength and conditioning.
Most importantly...Proper Weight Loss through Strength Training and Ultra Fit Nutrition is a science, and everyone needs guidance, support, knowledge, motivation and accountability

2) The theory of non americans being in shape and not needing to lose weight? Our client base and the people that we are training with our Ultra Fit Weight Loss program, come from every background and we are so proud to help everyone. Mexican, African American, Caucasian, Asian, Puerto Rican, Italian, Swedish, and many others just off the top of my head.
As I said before...Health & Fitness and a great training program benefits everyone and that's what we are all about!

3) My opinion of the Obesity Epidemic in America?
Personally and directly, I have to say:
People are not listening. We have the answers with Ultra Fit and I want to give everyone an opportunity to be in the game.
We will save and help everyone that truly cares about their future and their health. We reach out everyday to make a difference but everyone has to want to make the change and follow our program.
Everyone must become more serious about their future and their families future by becoming healthier, living longer and having a better quality of life.
We are the ones that can do it and we will help every person who is willing to make a commitment to us and for their future!
