Early Weigh-In

Just found out I'm not going to be able to get to Clemson in the morning to weigh in, so we'll go with what I saw this morning when I took a sneak peek.

It showed I was down another three pounds. That's 111 overall, 54 in the 14-plus weeks I've been on Ultra Fit. My operating weight is 368 pounds.

Percentage-wise, I was very close to being able to roll the total number over to four this morning, and that might have been the case tomorrow. Still, I'm very happy with the three pounds and anything I might have picked up - or dropped - by the morning will just roll over to next week.

Speaking of next week, that weigh-in will be a cause for celebration. Not so much based on what I may lose between now and then. But because of the significance of the date.

Today was weigh-in No. 51. So next week will complete one full year of weekly trips to the scales.

That means I started my path back to health one year ago this week.

Time flies, doesn't it? When I began the journey, I did so with a dogged determination to finally get it right. But there were no guarantees. To have made it to a year...who really would have guessed?

More on that next week when it becomes official. For now, here's how the first 51 weeks have stacked up.

To see where you've come from and where your heading is absolutely amazing Dan! I see you doing little things (like lifting and carrying sound equipment) that 52 weeks ago would have been impossible! WAY TO GO MY GOOD FRIEND! WAY TO GO!

dan , do you ever consider doing shows on the politics that we see nowdays. i know that you know what i'm talking about. you would do well if you enetered that area a la rush limbaugh, who has been able to be successful in that area, but we'll see how it goes in the long term for him. i think you could be just as successful if not more so because of your even handed demeanor. jack

dan needs to be doing a political talk show like don munson needs to be doing a sports talk show. that is, it would be a great idea!!!!

Baseball season can't get here quickly enough. Enough of the arrogance of college football and ESPN in particular. ESPN is the devil. It puts on results for everything except college baseball and then has the nerve to carry the regionals and world series like they've been following it all year. What a joke! If that's what you're going to do, DONT EVEN BOTHER!!!!

Dan - what you've done is nothing short of amazing. I was reading in Better Housekeeping about people that have lost 37 pounds and they were proud of themselves. but here you've lost 100. you should be in a magazine for what you've done. not sure which one, but they had guys in the better housekeeping. you should check it out. nothing those people have done is any better than what you've done. but you aren't getting the recognition. that should change!!!
